Continuous Monitoring of Pulmonary Artery Pressure Via an Implanted Leadless and Battery Less Pressure Sensor for the Management of Patients with Moderate to Severe Heart Failure (New York Heart Association Class III) [Internet] - PubMed
Background In Norway the prevalence of chronic heart failure has been estimated to be 2 percent, meaning 80,000-100,000 people. Around 75 percent of heart failure patients are older than 75 years old. Furthermore, patients diagnosed with heart failure account for approxima …

HRS Expert Consensus Statement on remote interrogation and monitoring for cardiovascular implantable electronic devices - Heart Rhythm
Cardiovascular implantable electronic devices (CIEDs) have evolved significantly since the publication of the 2008 Heart Rhythm Society (HRS) consensus statement1 outlining recommended monitoring strategies. Novel embedded technologies have created the ability of the devices to monitor their own function, record arrhythmias and other physiological parameters, and communicate this information to health care providers without the active participation of the patient. CIEDs with wireless remote monitoring (RM) capabilities stand at the forefront of a new class of medical devices that will unobtrusively acquire vital data beyond the walls of health care facilities and seamlessly transmit the information back to health care providers.

Remote Monitoring of Implantable Cardioverter-Defibrillators, Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy and Permanent Pacemakers: A Health Technology Assessment - PubMed
Remote monitoring of ICDs, CRT-Ds, and pacemakers plus clinic visits resulted in improved outcomes without increasing the risk of major adverse events compared with clinic visits alone. Remote monitoring is a cost-effective option for patients implanted with cardiac electronic devices. Patients repo …

Day by day telemetric care of patients treated with cardiac resynchronisation therapy: first Polish experience - PubMed
Remote monitoring of implantable devices is feasible, safe, and effective in supervising patients with CRT-D devices. Daily-based remote monitoring of a large population of HF patients allows continuous "triage" of high-risk patients and selection of individuals who require urgent intervention.

The CONNECT (Clinical Evaluation of Remote Notification to Reduce Time to Clinical Decision) trial: the value of wireless remote monitoring with automatic clinician alerts - PubMed
Wireless remote monitoring with automatic clinician alerts as compared with standard in-office follow-up significantly reduced the time to a clinical decision in response to clinical events and was associated with a significant reduction in mean length of CV hospital stay. (Clinical Evaluation of Re …
